Road & Bridge

Responsibilities

The Rio Blanco County Road and Bridge is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 931 miles of roads and 68 bridges as designated by the Board of County Commissioners. Be advised that not all county maintained roads are plowed in the winter.

Primary services of the department include: 
  • Snow and ice removal
  • Emergency road and infrastructure repair
  • Routine road, shoulder and ditch maintenance
  • Repair and replacement of culverts, cattleguards and guardrail
  • Maintenance and repair of bridges
  • Traffic control, signs and highway pain
  • Asphalt repair such as seal coating, patching, crack filling, gravel resurfacing and dust suppressant applications
