The following letter was sent to the BOCC and Public Health Director from the CDPHE on the evening of 11/24. A copy of the letter can be viewed here: https://rbc.us/DocumentCenter/View/2558/Rio-Blanco-Level-Change-Notice---PON-to-Level-Yellow---112420-1-1
"CDPHE is moving Rio Blanco County to COVID-19 Dial Level Yellow at this time. CDPHE will carefully monitor COVID-19 metrics and if case counts continue to rise, may need to move the county to another level.
The change from Protect Our Neighbors to Level Yellow is effective Monday, November 30, 2020 at 5pm and the county should work to inform residents, businesses and other stakeholders to ensure the transition is completed by then."
Information regarding the new Dial Framework can be found on the Public Health Section of www.rbc.us under "Coronavirus Updates".
After Rio Blanco County Public Health had a discussion with CDPHE on Friday, Rio Blanco County Public Health anticipated going straight to red, but with this slighter move on the dial we hope to gain leverage over this virus in our communities to avoid advancing that far. We will continue to forward any/all correspondence regarding this with you as our business community.
* Please note these levels and capacity restrictions come directly from the CO Department of Public Health and Environment, the Governor's Office, and DORA. The BOCC and RBC Board of Health have no authority over what comes from the state.
The BOCC has not released any new formal statements or positions regarding these changes. In May, the BOCC wrote a letter to Citizens and Businesses regarding their stance on similar issues during the first state shut-downs and during a July meeting voted unanimously to not support the state-wide mask mandate.
